we're back from a quick visit to sydney, having way too much good food (we love mint cafe - their breakfasts are amazing), timeout and a trip to the country to visit the olds and celebrate bro's 40th. we caught up with 6.5 stitches (check out those toys...), who let us know about a new book out - sample : 100 fashion designers : 10 curators - a v.swanky designery thing put out by phaidon which features oz designer toni maticevski in the lineup.
in terms of knitting books, there's a whole new swag of the things. our picks of titles that we haven't got our mitts on:

interweave knits ann budd and pam allen wrap style
sally melvilles third book for beginners - the knitting experience - color...
while not handknitting exactly, a couple of other titles of interest - Second-time Cool: The Art of Chopping Up a Sweater sounds interesting, as does The Art of Knitting: Inspirational Stitches, Textures, and Surfaces.
