exhibitions
if you're in melbs, you may like to check out the following exhibitions - at the ngv: floral designs in textiles @ everlasting (particularly fond of the large chinese slinky stole/scarf/wraps covered in floral embroidery that them naughty flappers wore sari style), a stunningly beautiful display of ceramics from gwyn hanssen pigott, and fashion from melbs gone paris martin grant. at the museum of victoria: morris & co - which is not entirely unlike liberty, as we had private boarding school flashbacks of frilly shirts, fob chains, denim skirts and loafers.
while they aren't exactly knitterly, they can act as a huge source of inspiration - grant and pigott might seem worlds apart in what they do, but going into the grant exhibition, it turns out that they were friends and had influence on each other.
