broadhurst fever

we've got a confession to make here - with ownership of our own lil' pad looming, we've become a tad obsessed with interiors. anything vaguely retro, weird, red (loungeroom), yellow (dining), pink (well, anywhere, really) gets our attention. enter florence broadhurst. after picking up the book, what's not to love? kooky lady decides at the age of 50 to get into designing. you go, girl. fullon, take no prisoners designs, and the same kind of outlook on life. strikes us as the kind of woman to aspire to be at that age. a florence broadhurst ebay search gives a decent idea of her work, as does the signature prints site.
the neat thing is finding broadhurst prints out and about - we're pretty sure that klines perfumery is using a broadhurst print (or something incredibly close) in their brunswick st store. saba on chapel st have a nifty rug which looks to be based on the japanese flower print:

seeing her work just makes us happy.
