there's a few things coming up which might be of interest to knitters and the like:

for something a little more local and pocket friendly, there's a few upcoming get togethers for sunday jazz and knitting.

the bead symposium & fair (how swanky is that?) happens friday to sunday oct 27-29 at kingston city hall moorabbin which we reckon will have the most beads you've ever seen in one room, along with workshops and demonstrations. more info - the bead society.

for the florence broadhurst fans, there will be a talk with author of the unauthorised biography "A Life by Design: the Art and Lives of Florence Broadhurst" siobhan o'brien at the sorrento cinema thursday 16 november at 6.00pm- 7.00pm. drinks and nibbles beforehand commencing at 5.30. tickets for members are $12.00 and guests are $14.00. bookings: phone the mornington peninsula gallery on  5975 4395.
